VPC Instances Worldwide
A Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is a virtual network dedicated to your AWS account. It provides you with control over your network settings, such as IP addressing, routing, and security policies, similar to an on-premises data center.
Using a VPC allows you to securely host resources such as EC2 instances, databases, and Lambda functions in a logically isolated environment that you define. It enhances security, scalability, and flexibility for your applications.
VPC enables you to define network access control policies, use security groups to control inbound and outbound traffic, and create private subnets that are not accessible from the internet, thereby enhancing the security posture of your applications and data.
EC2-Classic was AWS's original network technology that did not provide the same level of control and isolation as VPC. VPC allows for greater customization of network configurations and enhanced security features compared to EC2-Classic.
You can use AWS Management Console, CLI, or SDKs to monitor your VPC's performance, configure network settings, and manage security groups and route tables effectively. AWS CloudWatch provides metrics and logs for VPC traffic.
To achieve high availability, deploy your resources across multiple Availability Zones within a region, use Auto Scaling groups, and configure Elastic Load Balancing to distribute incoming traffic evenly across instances.
